Oils & Gas

It is important that gas systems have appropriate filters to ensure equipment is kept free from Ferrous oxides and magnetite, preventing equipment failure & unscheduled production down time..

Efficient Magnetic filters now offer a huge advantage in increasing the performance of Filtration units and Filter systems / fluid conditioning, and play the major part in improving/reducing system running cost and increasing availability, by effectively and efficiently removing Ferrous contamination, Iron oxide, rust & magnetite from critical systems, to sub micron levels, e.g.

Cleaning furnace fuel

Towngas, a Hong Kong based utility company was having problems with contamination in the naphtha fuel (a hydrocarbon) used to fuel large furnaces. The system’s resin type filters were allowing fine rust to pass through.

A Magnom Inline Process Unit was installed downstream of the filters and inspected after 6 weeks. It was found during inspection that only the first 2 of 20 Magnom cores in the unit were full of rust. This proven efficiency enabled operators to schedule an extended service interval of 6 months, resulting in significant savings and greatly improved product quality.

BP Poland LPG Process Installation

MAGNOM’s Patented Core Technology is use by Global Energy company BP,

To effectively & effectively removed harmful iron oxide, magnetite and ferrous/metal contaminants, from BP’s LPG distribution network, eliminating the need to constantly monitor and service critical system control components.

The contamination, generated with the LPG production and delivery systems, is caused by corrosive acids, eroding the surfaces of  its delivery & storage network, contaminating the LPG gas with Ferrous oxides and magnetite,

While in operation BP monitored the drop in pressure across the MAGNOM filter cores and after filling more than 30,000 11KG cylinders the loss of pressure across the core was less than 0.05 bar.
